"Pop quiz hot shot. You have a picture on a blog and you have to guess where it is. What do you do?"

Sounds like something Dennis Hopper would say in the movie Speed.

As for the picture, I'm gonna guess it looks a bit like Ocean Parkway -- but way down at the end of the alphabet, like near Coney Island Hospital.

Geez -- I can't even remember the last time I was in BoroPark. Or Flatbush for that matter. I think I've been to San Francisco more often in the past year...

Well then, maybe it's Queens Blvd or something -- but I really wouldn't know because I can count on one hand how many times I've been in Queens. Well, ok, so that's a lie -- but about the only part of Queens that I'm really familiar with is Shea Stadium :)

not queens blvd but it is queens!

Is it Main street? I'm afraid I don't know any other street in Queens.

Besides, I never understood Queens. Why have a 173rd street, 173rd avenue, 173rd road, 173rd boulevard, etc -- was that done just to confuse us?

yeah that drives me crazy too. I'm not going to give out the answer yet. let me see if anyone else chooses to guess.

I am going to guess "Jacob's Ladder" as the movie as my first guess. 2nd guess is "Charlie and The Choclate Factory"

It's definitely Main Street, not far (maybe a couple of blocks) from Jewel Avenue. But then again, I grew up on Parsons Blvd, went to Campbell JHS and John Bowne HS all in the 1960's. Graduated Bowne in 1970, became frum, and ultimately moved to Bklyn, where I am now.

Can you put a few links to those songs that hyperlinked the lyrics to? I'd love to hear them again.

you got it! it's the corner of 68th and main st. What do you want me to do with the songs?

Can you get the hyperlink to the actual songs, where we can hear them?

Oh, darn. I'm so annoyed at you! What's up with this secret blog? And here I am checking the feed for Life with Estee on a daily basis. I feel so... duped. Well, just so you know, I knew right away. That red light coming from Supersol is so long and the green so short and the people so stupid that it takes 6-10 seconds of honking before they realize the LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN AND IT'S TIME TO GO! Sorry, I'm okay now. Anyhoo, I loved Speed. Recognized the line immediately. Keanu is so steaming hot in that movie (those arms!) and Sandra is so adorable. Great popcorn flick.

I was wondering where you were and why you didn't answer. I knew you of all people would know this spot right away. And- I HATE THAT LIGHT!!!
